Event Proposal Form
Please read the information below before proceeding to the Event Proposal Form at the bottom of this page.
Community Room Events
The community room may be used by both private events and clubs, as well as for teach-ins, game nights, etc. The room may be reserved at no cost, but we do accept donations from any private groups who have the means to do so. Donations are not tax deductible but help us keep the space accessible to everyone.
Community room is 11’x11’ with a table that can seat up to 10 people comfortably. The room is equipped with a projector.
It is NOT necessary to fill out the Event Proposal Form to reserve the community room for private clubs. Please call for availability and to reserve a time. For public events that you would like to advertise for, please proceed to the Event Form.
Sales Floor Events
The front seating and rolling displays on the sales floor can be moved to make room for events on the sales floor, depending on the event and time. Please discuss this in detail in your proposal and with us when solidifying your event.
Author Signings & Readings
As a political bookstore, we have found the most successful author events in our space are ones that feature books that align with our core political themes and ideologies. As such, we may decline to host an author unless their work aligns with our mission or speaks directly to our primary audience.
Large Outdoor Events / Markets
We have the ability to set up pop-up events / markets in the parking lot of our shopping complex given 1-2 months’ notice to our neighboring businesses. Please plan to begin discussing such an event with us well in advance.
Marketing & Attendee Coordination
You are responsible for the advertising / marketing of your event. Homeward can share social media posts and put flyers up in the store. Unless otherwise discussed as a larger collaborative effort, events are considered to be hosted BY their event organizers, AT Homeward Books Collective.
Communication with attendees should be handled directly by event organizers. The Homeward team does not have the capacity to act as a middle-man between event hosts and their guests. This includes any need for sign-ups, ticketing, questions about the event, etc.
